Our feezer defrosted, and our ice cream melted unnoticed for a few days. We re-froze it, can i eat it safely??!

Question: It will not be the same. The texture will be horrible and the milk might have gone bad depending on how warm it got. I would bite the bullet and spring for a new tub. Better safe than sorry.

Yes it should be fine ice cream is meant to be melted and re-frozen

Warm dairy is always a breeding ground for bacteria. I wouldn't.

Only if you want to get sick.

as long as it didnt go bad smell it if it smells like rotten milk dont eat it

I once re-froze melted ice cream & it was horrible.

You shouldn't! It may not only taste bad but once it warms, dairy can grow bacteria at a very high rate (Yogurt) and some bacteria's are deadly!

no no no - bin it!! you could end up with a really dodgy tummy!!

ice cream is cheap just buy new ones, dont take a chance unless u want the runs

just to make sure you don't get sick, DON'T EAT IT

No - very, very bad idea as it contains milk and that can breed salmonella which doesn't make you feel too good. Ice cream that's melted should be chucked.

i wouldn't

it really depends on wat it melted on because if it melted on something like chiken then i would say dont eat it but other wise theres no reason why not

yuck that really would not be a good idea it is made of milk trust me you do not want to eat that

Eat it, it probably won't do you any harm. Nowadays people are too paranoid about germs. They help to build a strong constitution

Sure you can re-freeze it. I have to do this often as the 'boys' will leave it on the counter frequently.

No, and that goes for the rest of the food & drinks etc.

No! It would be dangerous

do not eat it it probably has bacteria from being warm, if u want sick go ahead but yeah.

It'll be safe to eat, but not enjoyable. I've done it before and it doesn't have the same creamy feeling of ice cream. It's more...crystallized. Kinda like eating icy milk. It just didn't taste very good. Go buy a new carton.

Be on the safe side THROW OUT everything from your freezer. It isn't worth getting sick.

NO!!

I doubt you would want to. It has probably separated out into different layers, by now, and would not really be very good to eat. Also, if it's gotten to room temperature while defrosting, you shouldn't eat it.

i wouldnt trust it or anything else in your freezer thats been down for a few days, hours is ok.... but days, throw it all out!

if it is hard i wouldnt and i would check the date and subtract 7 days

A few days? I would not eat it as the milk in it may have went around the bend.
