I hated asparagus. Now I like it. There were a lot of things I disliked as a child that I'll eat now. I couldn't stand the smell of lamb cooking. Now I like it quite a lot. I realized, as I got older, that it had more to do with how things were cooked and prepared than what was cooked.
My grandmother was an awful cook. She boiled everything together until they turned a kind of uniform grey (LOL). It was pretty nasty. Meat was always stewed, vegetables boiled until they turned to mush, boiled potatoes with no salt, etc.
When I got older and was able to experience other types of preparation I found out that other people didn't cook that way and I enjoyed more types of food.
Basically, the only thing edible in my house, as a kid, was cherry jello . . . and it was the only dessert ever served. . . every night!

Wow. Good question.
Here is a list of the foods I hated, and I mean hated, as a kid, but now like. By 'hated' I don't just mean that I ate them grudgingly - I mean that if you served any of these things to me, I would flat out refuse to eat them and go hungry instead. Now, however, with only four exceptions, I eat them all with pleasure. The exceptions are boiled potatoes, quiche, tomato ketchup and canned vegetables, all of which still make me gag.
Pizza of any kind
Pasta of any kind
Rice
Boiled or mashed potatoes
Sausages of any kind
