I'm not complete unless I'm eating 24/7. Help?!?!

Question: I'm thin and I don't get fat no matter what I eat, but I take advantage of that and I can't stop eating! I eat like 24/7 and if I'm not eating for like 10 minutes I go to the pantry and get something...anythingg. I'm always craving food even if I'm not hungry. its just something thats fun and entertaining and tastes good. when i don't have food in my mouth i feel like incomplete...like i feel bored and i just want something good to munch on. please help me with this obsession?! how do i keep away from that pantry/fridge?! thanks

You certainly don't need therapy, however it does seem like a compulsive eating disorder. Therapy will not do anything for you.

It is hard to say, since I do not know if you have any hobbies. However, if you find something that you truly enjoy doing and is something that you can easily do during free time (reading a book, jogging, baking, etc.) then it will help to take your mind off of food.

After all, it is you that tells yourself to go back to the pantry. You can also be the one to tell yourself to stop.

Try reading a book.

I dont know,
Ask someone else.

soccer

The way you describe it as not being "complete" tells me that it has become an addiction, and that it soothes some pain that you are feeling. It's not about food, it's about feeling like you need comfort.

This is more than just emptying your pantry or changing eating habits, I think there's a deeper issue that causes you to continue eating even when you aren't hungry.

Some therapy might not be a bad idea.

are you showing off or are you really a 300 pound lard butt?

control & will power
it's your choice to walk over there, it's not like you aren't controlling yourself
i know it's hard but you can do it :]

Get out of the house...find other things to do.

that is a health problem...talk to your doctor...hell give you pills to reduce your cravings....also drink water!

i think this is a problem when your brain cannot tell you if your hungry or not. you might want to see a doctor or you might get serious health problems.

Chew some gum and go do something that does not involve eating.

Yes, you do seem a little obsessed . You might be substituting food for something else. Go see a counselor so you can learn what this is all about. Good luck sweetie :)

Go to the doctor and get checked out. Make sure there is nothing wrong with your thyroid or blood sugar.

Maybe your so tiny that you have to eat alot. Its just like a mouse that eats all day and all night but is obviously still tiny. It has to do with your metabolism.

try something that keeps your mind off food like hanging out with friends or playing a game or something, and try eating more fruits and water so you wont be as hungry

it's called emotional eating and there are lots of books and workshops on how to overcome it. meditation and yoga will be a good start.

thats messed up but awsome at the same time, i would get down to golden arches if i was u

ha!
i have the same problem, I eat like a freak and people call me anorexic. If your body wants food not your mind now sweets then eat. But make sure you eatting healthy meaning plenty greens. But hey, for me i'm am an active person doing anything fun or exciting distracts me from whatever for hours

umm you could try and apetite depression it worked for me for a long time until I got pregnant or just get your mind of food lock it up or just eat healthy snacks I dont think it would be too bad to just eat healthy stuff

i think your bored-- try doing something and keep your food away from you!

i eat 24/7 too. what i do is i have gum in my mouth all the time. it keeps my mouth enertained and still feel like food is in my mouth

Try snacking on healthy things at least. Baby carrots are great for that, so is celery. Or you could try drinking more water, or chewing sugar free gum.

well apparently you love food. that's not bad. maybe you have some type of oral fixation i dunno.
i say as long as your not gaining weight enjoy life.
But I guess that doesn't answer your question. find some hobbies or if you're feeling really hardcore, do a cold turkey to all your snack cravings.

try chewimg gum !
well, maybe you should talk to someone about it, like a nutritionist?
It's the same thing with me, I'm really skinny, no matter what I eat ! But then again, just because you are skinny, doesn't mean you are healthy...So try to do lots of sports !

Did you tell the whole truth??

Why not try chewing gum or sucking on sweets so you have something to taste. Also try keep your hands busy think of something you are intressed in doing and try it out this way your doing somethin else and you should hopefully stop eating as much.

Try drinking a beverage instead (maybe a flavored water).

You might also consider taking up a hobby that keeps yur hands busy, and is easy to get obsessed with. Needlepoint, rug hooking, knitting, etc.

find a hobby.

try reading a book if you keep your self busy you will have less time thinking about wanting to eat. has your mother taken you to see your doctor. but you know my grandson was like that he was very thing to and he was always wanting to eat and I took him to the doctor to see why this was happening like this to him know what his doctor said.that Shawn was okay and he was growing and this is why he ate so much! he was always hugrey !

You should have your thyroid checked, you may have a hyperactive thyroid condition.

I have this problem as well i find that if i suck on a piece of cand y ie jolly ranchers, mints, gobstoppers or anything that will last a while it take away the hungry in me it works great
