I think mandarins are smaller.

No or they would have the same name.

A manderin is like an orange, only sweeter.

A mandarin is a type of orange

Mandarins are a type of orange.

technically they are both citrus yes but madrins are smaller....and much easier to peel...:o)

Oranges and Mandarin oranges are not the same thing and a Mandarin is not a baby orange.

it is just a type of orange. Just a tangerine is a type of orange.

mandarins are smaller, but i think what also makes them different from ie tangerines, clementines and smaller oranges is their origin.

Just close relatives. They have different flavors.

No - it's a different type of orange. Just like there are different kinds of apples.

Mandarin is just a type of orange...small and sweet

A mandarin is a type of orange like a navel orange. It's smaller and sweeter. Great in asian salads.

DEFINITELY not......doTHEY TASTE the same?

No, they have different characteristics. The mandarin is smaller. They are however both citrus and orange in color.

The Mandarin orange or mandarin (瓯柑) is a small citrus tree (Citrus reticulata) with fruit resembling the orange. The fruit is oblate, rather than spherical, and roughly resembles a pumpkin in shape. Mandarin oranges are usually eaten plain, or in fruit salads. Specifically reddish orange mandarin cultivars can be marketed as tangerines, but this is not a botanical classification.

An orange—specifically, the sweet orange—is the citrus tree Citrus sinensis (syn. Citrus aurantium L. var. dulcis L., or Citrus aurantium Risso) and its fruit. The orange is a hybrid of ancient cultivated origin, possibly between pomelo (Citrus maxima) and tangerine (Citrus reticulata). It is a small flowering tree growing to about 10 m tall with evergreen leaves, which are arranged alternately, of ovate shape with crenulate margins and 4–10 cm long. The orange fruit is a hesperidium, a type of berry.
