Leftovers or a different meal every night?!

Question: When I was a kid, Mom would serve a dinner one night, and - if there were any - the leftovers the next night. So did my Mother In Law. Use it all up, don't waste.

But my husband refuses. Had beef stew last night? Fix chicken or something tonight. Okay to eat the stew about 2 days later, for lunch.

I get so tired of little dishes of this, and of that in my fridge.

Seems like I save this little dab and that little dab. When it goes bad, throw it out.

get a food disposal unit like iv got it recycles it so nothing goes to waste and no carbon foot print to ruin the world it called a dog and she loves all my leftovers and never complains

You can re-use the leftovers and make something different with them. Make chicken one night and have some leftover? Make stir-fry or soup the next night. After he eats it and likes it, tell him it's leftover ;).

try cooking alot chicken one night....put some in the fridege...then use it for salads, pastas, stews etc for the rest of the week...using leftovers...but with new ideas

LEFTOVERS .... Tell him to cook

Leftovers. If you have a fair amount of something, have a smorgasbord.
Why not freeze your leftovers for another day.
My husband will eat the same food for several days until it's gone.
We try very hard not to waste food.
When I clean out my fridge, I have an "eat up shelf" before I go grocery shopping.

I guess the trick would be to cook only the amount you think you'll eat;however, we know that is impossible. I too waste food that I thought we would eat but goes bad. I try to make a new meal each night and save the left overs for lunch. We go out a lot, too.
