After the chicken week with the 3 chefs...?!
Answers: will you be buying free range chickens now or not?? , i will be and it just tasted so much nicer .xx
If they were cheaper I would do - or if they were the only option I would have no choice so would buy them then. I do feel really bad for the chickens and their conditions but if the supermarkets refused to sell 'cheap' chickens, I think that most people would pay that bit extra for one if it was the only choice. We don't eat much chicken, but I feed it to Becky (my dog to those who don't know) every day and as I don't work I wouldn't be able to afford free range all the time. By the way Lorraine, I am sticking to my diet (cutting out all the chocolate & toffees), but haven't lost anything yet. I am craving chocolate all the time. How did you cope with the cravings? What has happened to your avatar? I miss seeing Olly/Ollie (sorry - I forget how you spell it).
Probably not. The're too expensive for regular family meals.
Isn't is strange we talk so much about free range now and 60 years ago everything was free range? Same thing with organic everything.
I have tried free range chicken and I think it does taste better than the cheap stuff but I can only afford the cheap meat cos I'm a student. I agree with the fact that the chickens are entitled to have regular fresh air and exercise and not to be kept in cramped conditions.
I agree with MYRA C, they are too expensive if you are on a budget and have to feed a family. Also if you look at the way many other animals are treated, you would be vegetarian.
yes after watching the programme my family and myself have made it a new years resolution to only buy free range chicken.I understand that they are more expensive but we have decided not to eat chicken as often as we used to. we have only ever bought free range eggs and it was not until we watched the programme that we realised how bad it was .
I don't think so as my mum is the one who does the shopping so she will choose!
I will buy whatever my wallet allows,
hopefully at least the new lighter stocked or barn eggs
and the cheaper free rangers
the super markets would do better to support free range
keep the prices down on basics and not be so greedy,
but then the rich wont get richer will they?
so no chance there then.
