Should you throw out a can of tomatoes and its contents if the can has a small dent?!

Question: I would be less concerned about a dented can of tomatoes since it is assumed the pH is low enough to inhibit c. bot. Having said that the fact that the can is dented is not a particularly good sign. If the contents look funny or smell bad then don't eat it. If you have another can you can use, use it instead.

no it won't effect anything

Yes, the contents can spoil very quickly. Take it back to the store, they will gladly replace it without the receipt. Tomain poisoning is a horrible thing!

no. if u feel insecure about it bring it back to the store. but otherwise it doesnt matter

Unless the seal is broken around the top or bottom, it should be fine to use. You can tell if the vacuum has been broken by pressing down on the middle of the lid. If it gives then the seal has probably been broken and you should not use it. If it doesn't, then it should still be OK.

No you shouldn't unless the seal is burst open. Beware, here come the food police. It will be just fine.

No, the dent in the can would not affect the tomatoes at all. The only thing damaged is the can.
