I agree with you but you left out all of the great seafood caught daily and Steak & Kidney Pie, Deep fried Haddock & Chips, Lancashire Hotpot, Leg of Lamb with rosemary, Melton Mowbray Pork Pies, Fresh picked berry pies among other things. What would you do without the Ploughman's Lunch. Soups to die for. Sheppard's pie. Stilton & Cheddar cheese!

Thank you. I was there for a month last year. The food was fabulous. Anyone who hasn't tried it should not have an opinion. First try it. Report It

  • I disagree. =) sorry

I did a European tour 10 years ago and England was the last stop....after all those continental breakfasts, the greasy beany breakfast in London was heaven sent.

    You are a funny guy.

it would help if you named 1 that was good , i could agree w/ you then

Agreed. Much of our food is based on British foods.
    Shepherd's Pie,
    Pasties,
    Dumplings.
    Spotted Dick

It depends entirely on an individual's tastes and ethnic background. English cuisine is largely known as unimaginative. Fortunately, this trend seems to be passing as creative chefs are becoming more influenced by the continent and using techniques borrowed from the French, Italian, Spanish etc. If you enjoy the English type of cuisine, go for eat. Eat hearty and enjoy.

    Cheers

I don't know that I've ever had the pleasure of sampling anything specifically British, but I will take your word that it is really good. I was reared on Southern American foods like Chicken & Dumplings, Fried Chicken, Baked Bean Casserole, Baked Ham, and Pot Roast and all the vegetables one could ever imagine, including Polk Salad Greens. Home Style Biscuits and Cornbread are tops as well. I'd sure love to try your British foods! I do love to eat!

    You forgot Forerib with Yorkshire!

slurp...drool... gronfff...slurp.....Mmmmmm bangers and mash with thick onion infested gravy...drool.....slurp....
