Meat and Dairy from cloned animals?!

Question: will you eat it or not? and how do you feel about the FDA making the choice that it doesn't need to be labeled as such?

I would personally prefer no such product would be produced. I am not even certain, at this point, why I feel this way so I shall continue to research it. But ...here is my point ...

WHY produce it? Do we not have a satisfactory supply of food under natural circumstances? What is the purpose?

I would much rather we spend our time and money improving the raising of natural (organically grown) foods - vegetables, fruits, meats, etc., than in cloning.

The FDA is the same agency that has approved one drug/food disaster after another, so I personally have no confidence in their decision.

My hope is that the "market place" will reject cloned products. That would end the discussion.

I just heard that on the news today. Is anyone actually cloning livestock for human consumption? That wouldn't make much sense.

I don't really see a difference betweeen that and all the other genetic engineering going on with produce and the hormones given to the livestock.

Technically, the FDA decided that the offspring of cloned animals can be used for food, not the cloned animals themselves. I'm still not happy that the food won't be labeled.

I'd eat it, I don't see the difference. I 'm sorry for my ignorance but I don't see why it would need to be labeled.

I probably wouldn't know the difference even if it was Soylent Green. I eat a lot of dairy but only eat a little meat 3 or 4 times a week.
