How come when you eat something hot and spicy you get a runny nose?!

Question: the capscian (substance that makes it spicy) irritates your mucus membranes.

Answers: the capscian (substance that makes it spicy) irritates your mucus membranes.

your eyes water when you eat something spicy
and it runs into your nasal passages
not sure why your eyes water though...the chemicals must activate the tear ducts......or what he said. lol

so thats y my nose runs when i eat hot cheetos.

is that really your ***??? damn Gina!!

opens your sinus but then what is it were rely talking about

ummm.....I could go in so many directions with this.... =D

I'm not sure...but if that doesn't happen then it is not hot and spicy enough....

because it overwhelms the sinuses which in effect causes a runny nose and watery eyes.

If it's REALLY hot and spicy than its a good 'sauce' you put on. If you didn't use a 'sauce' I would think twice about seeing the Doc. Gives a new meaning to Buffalo Wings!

No I didn't!...........

ok, I did

Spicy things are hot, so they melt the stuff in your brain and nose.

Only Runny's nose knows that.

You're hot and spicy, does that mean if I eat you, I'd get a runny nose?
