How can you eat meat when...?!

Question: you KNOW that an animal suffered just for you to eat. how can you do this when there are other options?! Rice, noodles, beans, salads sooo many other options. why are you killing for no reason at all?

Not ethical; I agree but it's a choice that each and everyone of us has to make despite the research findings that meat is contributory to cancers.

The rearing of cattle for instance produces methane gas which is detrimental and makes for a green house effect.

World poverty, in essence can be arrested if we make an effort to eat no/less meat.
Why? The land that cattle is grazed on can be better used to grow crops to feed the masses, and poverty can be arrested!

Ultimately? Man's choice! A better world or...

If we wish to ignore the implications because we can't live with alternatives, then we'll also have to live with the consequences.

In the Bible, Jesus gives us that ability.

how can you wear leather shoes and carry leather bags, and sit on leather furniture and...????

I do agree with you, it is hard though because so many things are made out of animals

That's why animals are farmed.
Our ancestors killed and ate animals and that is how us as humans have evolved.
Personally I think meat is delicious and eating meat is a natural human habit.

I'm a butcher that is very offensive. If we didn't eat animals I would lose my job.

Eating vegan food would be too boring....it's all blah. Would you get upset if animals are eating other animals to survive... it's the same thing!

excess of anything is bad. Even animal protein is necessary. But in controlled way. People eat meat everyday. That's not good. it Will certainly harm them . but occasionally if you eat meat , its going to benefit you. Country like America or some north European countries where they need fat to ward off excessive cold animal protein is must for them. There it becomes the question of survival. I n whole food chain humans are placed under omnivorous category by the nature itself. So now it depends upon the taste of an individual.

I ask the question if you don't eat living things such as animals are not the vegetables you are eating once living? I do believe trees, plants, are living organisms so why only eat them, when you can eat a well balanced slaughter of planet earth. Lets take a look at chickens, what purpose do they serve on earth other to feed people? Eat what you want and be happy.

I only eat veal, which is one day old cowlet.

That's not as cruel or heartless because they haven't had time to run and jump and play.
They haven't had time for school or hobbies, they don't know anything about rolling in the clover.
Heck, I'm not busting up any cowboy cowgirl love affairs, no broken cowgym or cowphone contracts, they're only one day old when they get the chop, and they are sooo cute and cuddly...... and delicious with pepper sauce.

You can keep your carrot and mung beans, give me a steak.!

.

Some have meat and cannot eat,
Some have none and want it,
We have meat and we can eat,
So let the Lord be thanked.

I do not know that an animal suffered for my meat.
You are wrong about a cow being caged as you describe for producing veal calves. This would be a poor management strategy for the farmer. More labor intensive, would shorten the productive life of the cow, and increase cost.
You can be a vegan if you want but if you just want to get us meat eaters riled up at least make intelligent arguments instead of these emotional tantrums.

I think you're right about eating meat. All the things you've said makes me want to become a vegan but I'm so addicted to eating meat all the time. I don't think I could stop if I wanted to. I know the animals have to go through torment to be food for humans, but even if i did stop eating meat producers wouldn't stop killing animals.

i can agree to a certain extent w/ both sides of most of these arguments , the 2 things i don't eat as far as cruelty during raising are milk fed veal + any foie gras , people do not have to do anything more than raise the animal to the butchering stage , i cannot condone the torture just to manipulate taste+ texture , that is what a good cook is supposed to do

In order for 1 to survive, something else has to die.
