Fish is a religious icon since the middle ages when a fish monger was a friend of a Pope. The Pope was convinced to and the fish only Fridays. That's the only reason I can think of..

Its just veggies and vegans finding little loopholes to allow them to eat meat.
Meat is the flesh of an animal. So yes, fish is meat. Some people say "meat" is from a mammal. In this case, both chicken and fish would not be meat, though no one seems to question chicken being "meat", while fish is frequently debated. Seems like a double standard to me. Especially when meat is any animal flesh.
fish is not meat it is seafood.. LOL!!! beef is red meat and chicken is poultry.. OMG!!!
I'm a carnivore, but I would say everything that has blood in it is meat.

In South America they ask you: "Do you want meat or chicken".
To me, meat is anything that comes from our regular "meat" animals, beef, chicken, pig. I would add fish as people think it does not have the texture of real "meat".
I just read that the FDA approved "cloned meat". Does that mean that our sausages are a result of skin grafting in a petri dish?
Just for that reason I would recommend to go veg.
I'm a vegetarian and as far as I'm concerned seafood is meat. It's all cooked muscle so I don't see how fish can be considered anything but.
Dictionary.com has 4 definitions for "meat" that actually have to do with the food. Thats a good question though. Maybe fish isn't considered meat because it's not like red blooded and roaming like a cow for example? I really dont know....
