Do you HONESTLY believe that hot foods & liquids warm you up during cold weather?!

Question: & that cold foods & liquids cool you down during warm weather? It feels like 20 degrees, & drinking hot cocoa isn't doing me any justice.

& during the summer, I can drink ALL the iced water in the world & STILL feel overheated!

What I can say is - drinking a cold drink in winter is not as pleasant as drinking a hot drink and vice versa SO I certainly feel it warms me up and cools me down depending on what I drink - short term anyhow. If I had been out in the snow, I wouldn't want a cold soda, I would want coffee.

food is energy and you often sweat when you eat because your body is working to break it down. yes food helps warm you. liquor thins your blood and might feel warm at first but ultimately will make you feel cooler.

Yeah, but just holding the mug of hot chocolate heats up your hands... plus, whenever I have hot coffee or hot chocolate- my temp rises!

it does, you just have to be athletic...hot water REALLY warms you up and puts u in a good sensation

drink it slower, it seems to help for me.

Yes

no, i dont believe it does.

you can think of your stomach as a thermal insulator.
if you put warm liquids in it will warm up your core for a Little while or at least until the liquid is digested.
the same thing for cool liquids, but the reason for drinking cool liquids in warm or extreme temperatures isn't so much that it cools you down to being comfortable but that you are replacing fluids your body sweats out.
which is why i prefer cold weather over warm weather, because no matter how hot it gets you can be bare naked and still not be cool,where-as in cold weather you can bundle up with more and more clothes and blankets and you could survive an arctic winter!!!

yes

i don't think it's related at all.....i go curl up in my bed when it's too cold....lol

i think it helps a little, it warms you from the inside out. when i drink hot chocolate or hot coffee, it warms me a little, and anytime i drink frappacunio's it freezes me to the bone, and it takes me forever to warm up again. my husband complains when i drink them on really cold days, because he knows that i stay really cold as it is, and if i drink that, then there is no warming me up and i drive him crazy, because i put my cold hands on him and i wrap up in a big coat or blanket.

I think they warm your internal body temp, making you feel warmer.

I think they help a little. Drinking something hot can take the immediate chill off but wouldn't help if it is cold in the room - I would think the same with hot weather and cold drinks.
