Can one buy the syrup from coca-cola and sell their own bottled coke?!
Answers: Does the coke bottling plant have exclusive rights to selling the drink in bottles/cans? Fountain drinks are available like at fast food restaurants, but I am more interested in the bottles.
Coca Cola is not a franchise. Also, the Coca Cola Company and the Coca Cola BOTTLING Company are two different organizations.
The bottling company has sole rights to the product at this time. No one else can bottle it without breaking the law, unless it's for private use. You can't sell it. Also, they don't sell syrup to private individuals, only businesses.
If it WAS allowed, you would not be able to bottle it in the quantity the plant does. The result would be that you would have to charge more money for it. Who would buy it when they can get it cheaper EVERYplace else?
Regarding the kosher coke in the comment below, every year they make a special vat, and have a rabbi come and say words over the vat. That is what they sell as kosher coke.
Nope.
No
check with cocal cola sales and marketing and present your business plan for a new bottling plant.
Yeah it is called a patent. Infringing on them can get you into deep trouble. Sorry it won't work.
You'd have to buy the syrup in the bag/box combo like at fast-food joints. I suppose you could put it in whatever bottles you wanted, but bottling carbonated drinks is not for the novice, and it would probably be more trouble than it's worth.
Also, it would still be the Coke you can just buy from the store. The only Coke that would be worth buying to bottle on your own would be a special formula, like kosher Coke, made with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.
Kosher Coke is totally awesome. Stock up at Passover! I certainly do.
But you can ask your local bottler about pricing--it won't be cheap in small quantities to buy the syrup.
Occasionally, you see "cola syrup" in old-school pharmacies as a hangover cure. Well, they say, "a remedy for the day after overindulgence," but you know that's a hangover. I mean, no carbonated water, just a bottle of syrup.
So Coke syrup does have its uses...
It's likely you can buy the syrup, they use it in bars. As far as selling Coke - you would have to have a bottling plant and be authorized by Coca-cola to bottle & sell their product. Unless you a have a few billion dollars behind you to compete with them and even then you could not use their trademark name.
They already have great competition from Dr Pepper and Pepsi-Cola.
kind of, you can buy cola but not from coke. its really easy to do though
good luck
