Hi i need to know what foods i can eat please from phoebe?!
Answers: hi my mum has really bad gout and dont know what foods he can eat so i hope some one can help me please
she needs to stay away from red meat...any thing with acid...tomatoes...citrus juices...and of course all soda's...shouldnt have caffeine either..no coffee ortea unless decaf...it sucks but it really does help!...chicken and fish are good...and veggies.....no alcohol either..although i do cheat from time to time...and tell your mom to ask her dr about colchicine.....its a one time medication that if you take it and follow the rules you shouldnt have anymore problems...causes a bit of diarrhea though...sorry!!!...just to add on...yes cherry juice and cherries help...but theres no medical proof that they cure gout...none!! i have suffered with this for years and this is what has helped me and was prescribed for me by a dietician..i see bogus answers below by people who went to wikipedia...just have your mom ask a dietician..before these people have her sicker than she already is!!!!!
Cherry juice is very helpful for gout. Just drink a juice glass full every morning. Stay AWAY from seafood.
Hi,
Give your mom cherries and any Berries that have a dark red or blue appearance.
check this web-link, you can get much useful information:

*The best known food remedy for gout sufferers are cherries. Any individual who has been diagnosed with gout should start eating at least eight ounces of cherries a day. This will help to not only stop the pain but stop the gout altogether. Berries that have a dark red or blue appearance to them will also provide the same relief.*
Take good care of your mom.
