At the Market - What popular foods can you not eat & why.?!

Question: Tell me please, what popular foods have ingrediants that you cannot eat. Is it for religious, health or other reasons? I cannot eat foods high in salt, & it is for health reasons. Beer, saurkraut, pickles, ham are things I shouldn't eat.

I also have the same problem I am on a 2,000 miligrams (2tsps) or less diet. Go to healthyheartmarket.com to order low sodium stuff. They have low sodium canned beans, mushrooms, pickles, olives kraut, etc... Most of the stuff is good I order a salsa made by "frog ranch" and a pasta sauce from "Enrico's" the olives taste a little watery if you just snack on them but they are good in say a pasta salad.
Wal-mart and target carry no salt added canned green beans and corn, and Korger/Smiths has the best deals on no salt added tomatos and tomato sauce.

Sue Bee the people that make honey also make a bar-b-q sauce that is very low sodium and you can buy no salt added ketchup.

Hebrew national makes a low sodium hot dog but I cannot find it where I am so I buy the low fat I think it is and it has a lot less sodium also. I have also recently found low sodium bacon, I think Hormal makes a name brand but Wal-Mart also has one.

I just found rice-a-roni (I think) reduced sodium beef flavored instant rice.

The biggest thing is to make it your self where you can control the amount of sodium per serving. Also if you have some thing that is higher in sodium eat only a serving or the portion of tha you can have according to your restrictions.

It sucks but it's do-able, check every lable there where a lot of things I thought had no sodium but really do, i.e. eggs, milk, carrots, celery have it naturaly. So just check ALL lablels.

Oh yeah and here is another web-site

I just googled where to buy low sodium foods and found some good sites but the healthy heart market is my fav.

On the bright side there is still a LOT of stuff you can eat you just have to eat it differently.

I can't eat onions because I will break out in hives! :-(

Bell peppers. I HATE bell peppers. Even foods they sit next to or are cooked with reek of them. Sometimes they become fashionable for color & spice and people want to put them in everything, but I cant' stand them. I like hot peppers, though.

I am diabetic with high blood pressure & colesterol. I also have kidney stones & gall stones. I assure you it would be easier to list the foods and seasonings that I can eat rather than the ones I can't.

Then, of course, there are some that I just don't like.
