Are slipper limpets edible?!

I would think just as edible as any other shellfish. I think I have seen them eating limpets on Survivor, lol ( =

to be truthful yes but they will taste like rubber no matter which way you cook them, never mind rick steins recipe. i live right on the sea and i collect them for fishing bait.
they have a thick outer suction pad that they use to cling to the rocks and very little else inside their shell. really i can only see them being put on a plate in a bouillabaise, but the only way to judge is to try them yourself.
if you do then i would think they would have to done slowly in a white wine stock
personally i would go for winkles or dog whelks, these live in the rockpools where the limpets are. if you do pick them yourself then go for the ones that are still in the water so the sun hasn,t cooked them and they are still fresh, a good heavy knife will get them off. just prise them off
