Which food poisoned us tonight??!

Question: Hi

for dinner tonight I cooked the following meal for my wife and I. Chicken risotto, using frozen veg, onions, rice (I cooked and then cooled it down with cold water before adding to the pan with the veg),
a cooked chicken (bought today from a fairly reputable local deli), soy sauce.

I also cooked from a packet of bread mix some ciabatta bread. I think I undercooked this slightly as it was a little bit doughy in the middle still. We only had a small slice of this each, however.

within twenty minutes of eating the meal we were both on the loo for what I am sure I don't need to explain. We have both been fine since however.

any idea which of those ingrediants could have made us react like this? we both eat these type of foods regularly however have never bought chicken from this deli before, although they do sell a lot cooked chickens daily.

It is most likely the chicken, reputable deli or not everyone can make a mistake, I would say rice but you said you cooled it down and this is a great step to insure safe rice,Now the bread you said came from a mix and if you had to add raw egg and then as you said it was undercooked then possibly this is it, (possibly) Now if it was your chicken and you had bought it from my shop I would want you to contact me so that I could investigate, correct the problem so that I could continue to keep my business open, we all make mistakes.

i think the chicken, maybe it wasnt hot enough

I can only think the chicken is the culprit. You really don't know the temp that it had been stored at in the store.

I think the chicken was hot and then cooled, too many times.

My money's on the rice - if it was the chicken you'd be on the bog for days, trust me.

Either the chicken or the rice, since both are breeding grounds for bacteria.

It was the poison that I put in your food. What are you doing still alive?

i'm gonna guess chicken sorry.

I would put my money on the rice, it causes more problems than any other food I know.

if you were sick 20 mins after eating, it prob wasnt food poisioning from something u ate that day.
it usually takes 24 to 72 hours for you to feel the effects of food poision.
