How do I avoid black pepper? It seems to be everywhere.?!
Answers: I have never been fond of black pepper, pepper corns, any thing with pepper corns in it. I used to like hot chili type peppers, but I've lost my taste for those too. Can't a few things be free of black pepper?
If you need to control what is in your food due to food allergies or sensitivities you must cook at home from scratch.
I have several food sensitivities as well as being on a low salt regimen. It makes shopping very interesting. I take a magnifying glass to read labels and "dining out" is even a bigger challenge.
Pepper can very well be added at the table. However, many of my favorite recipes call for pepper during the preparation.
Read labels.
When dining out you can't expect pre-prepared things like soup to be cooked "to order" but you can expect your entre to be pepper, spice, garlic free if you ask ...
Pepper grinders are usually on the table so that you can grind or not grind as you choose. If you are speaking of foods being cooked with pepper in them such as soups & stews, if you can obviously taste the pepper then too much was added. Seasonings are supposed to enhance the flavour of the food. The day has long gone when the purpose was to mask the flavour of the food.
Vanilla ice cream...chocolate ice cream...peach ice cream..
You might have to bite the bullet and start some home cooking and discover a new talent...
Oh "pepper" i thought you said "people" never mind
Did you know that black pepper is actually good for your heart, and that it actually makes your food tastes that much better. I guess if you really don't like it, just rinse it off or let your chef know you don't like it.
