Do You Guys Remember The Days?!

Question: I was reading a minute ago about a recall on canned beans for potential contamination of a serious and life threathening disease. along with ecoli in spinach/lettuce. dozens of recalls on burgers. where the F*** did this come from all of a sudden?? outta no where all of our food is poison, contaminated, DEADLY! do you remember the days (which wasnt so long ago) when you never heard about dangerous food, being warned not to eat something as common as spinach and freakin beans? this is ridiculous.

Right???? Workers are careless, it has been spinach, numerous times.... Burgers and ground beef all the time, now we have to worry about not knowing whether the beef we consume is cloned or not!!!! We dont even have the option of buying it if we want because the FDA says its safe???? WTF????

It's a sad day and age when one must question whether what they eat is safe.Even the pets aren't safe from poisoning.I'm not sure the why of it but would like to see it stop.

the problem is....long ago as you call it....there were ecoli and salmonella and all that......but no way to test for it, and or country doctors/and rural folks had no way of paying for testing etc etc......some of the contamination comes from the fact the we have a WHOLE lot of immigrant workers that work these fields (for lesser pay) than it's counter parts (Americans) who some would not do the job at all for any amount of pay......due to the fact that a lot of the immigrant workers are illegals immigrants they don't and can't fight for rights...like toilets....bathroom breaks (because there are none....etc etc...so some are forced to defecate and urinate in the fields...I know I will get a lot of feed back on this subject...sorry folks but I know how it really is out there...
it is also due to improper handling and washing of the products....

**** has always been there it is just that we are more aware of the whole health thing now

yes, of course. i thing the law is developing faster, than a common sense.

elcada terrorists probably

Too much processing, too fast. Back in the "old days" we didn't have all the preservatives we encounter in foods like we do now. We also use more chemicals to grow food products and overcrowd the land used for growing food and raising animals. Putting these two products too close to each other has caused many of the contamination problems.

I have found that when some people can't find a job they will create one. These people have managed to create the 'food police'. I try to use common sense and pay little or no attention to these best before dates. I have no problems with tinned products but since they have a long shelf life the manufacturer's and distributers are now packing in cardboard containers which are not as safe. I avoid them whenever possible

I have friends who will use their vegetables which come in plastic that say pre washed will use them straight from the bag and never wash them again. I fill the sink with cold water and wash all of my vegetables & herbs & rinse them using a colander.

THE GOOD NEWS IS you can only die once, you will die ! maybe today ,maybe tomorrow ,but if its today I'm at least gonna enjoy it while I'm here Eat well my friends Your a long time dead
