Healthy foods that you enjoy?!
Answers: what are some of your favorite breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack foods that are healthy? im stuck on what to eat and i need some help! :] thanks!
Breakfast Favorites
-Oatmeal (out of the big tub, not the packets) cooked in water and flavored with 1-2 packets of splenda and a few dashes of cinnamon
-Granny Smith or Honey Crisp apple with a slice of whole wheat toast spread with a little peanut butter or low sugar strawberry preserves
-Omelette with veggies (tomatoes, bell pepper, and onion) and low fat cheese
-Breakfast burrito-- whole wheat tortilla with 1 egg white, salsa, and low fat cheese
-Cheerios or Frosted Mini Wheats with skim milk
Lunch Favorites
-Turkey sandwich-- whole wheat bread, thinly sliced turkey, lettuce, low fat cheese, tomato, and mustard (skip the mayo)
-Turkey wrap-- same as above just with a whole wheat tortilla and shredded cheese
-Salad-- lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumbers, and light dressing or viniagrette (use croutons, bacon bits, cheese, and regular dressing in moderation).
-PB&J (it can be healthy!)-- whole wheat bread, peanut butter, and low sugar preserves or even better... fresh fruit!
-Soup in a thermos (if you are at work or school, if you can prepare it yourself then just heat it up obviously!)-- Find a good recipe for vegetable soup, chicken noodle soup, black bean soup, tortilla soup, tomato soup, beef stew, minestrone, or your favorite soup. If using a thermos, boil water in a kettle and pour into thermos to heat. Heat soup in microwave, empty water from thermos, add soup to heated thermos. Soup should still be hot when lunchtime comes.
-Greek pasta salad-- uses extra virgin olive oil and Greek ingredients such as olives and cherry tomatoes instead of the usual pasta salad that uses mayo, dressing, or sour cream
Dinner Favorites
-Grilled Chicken served with brown rice and veggies
-Spinach Lasagna
-Baked Tilapia
-Salmon
-Lemon Glazed Shrimp and Asparagus
-Chili
-Quiche
-Enchiladas
-Chicken Fajitas with bell peppers and onions
Snack Favorites
-Apple
-100 calorie snack packs (oreo, shortbread, and graham crackers are my favorites!)
-Tomatoes
-Hard-boiled eggs
-Whole wheat crackers
-Yogurt
-Sugar Free Pudding
-String Cheese
-Trail mix-- peanuts, cashews, raisins, cheerios, goldfish crackers, dark chocolate m&m's

I personally love all kinds of vegetable soups. Of course I avoid those soups that have heavy cream and all kinds of stuff. Just healthy vegetable soups like: zucchini and potatoes, or cabbage soup, split pea and so on. If you share my taste and you need some good recipes you can e-mail me, or go visit: www.recipezaar.com
I love string cheese! I snack on a piece of that everyday. I also drink a lot of orange juice and big glasses of skim chocolate milk. Those drinks can fill you up for awhile, and they're so good for you. And for those of you that remember the Cream of Wheat in the 80's that had the jelly pouches...I make plain oatmeal and mix in strawberry (or whatever your favorite is) jelly. It tastes amazing, I highly recommend it. :)
