What are the disadvantages of eating too much fruit?!
Answers: Could I be putting on weight? I eat a good bit of fruit. What are the disadvantges of it?
Don't eat too much, a few apples a day is ok.

I wouldn't think much if you have variety. You may end up going to the bathroom, with anything too much is a good thing.
You might get the runs...or an acid stomach.
You COULD gain weight, but you'd have to eat an awful lot of fruit. I'd limit it to 4-5 servings per day.
The only disadvantage (I don't think personally that this is a disadvantage) could be frequent or loose bowel movements. There is a lot of fibre in most fruit.
I can't really think of a disadvantage. I know eating too many bananas can make one sick from the potassium, but you are just bulking up on sugars your body can naturally digest and much needed fibre, which helps regulate the digestive system.
My only concern would be the amount of sugar versus the rest of what you consume in a day.
I am including an article from a website that I am not 100% sure if the guy is legit, as his website sells stuff, but he has an article against eating tons of fruit. He does not offer citations for his sources, just says he talks to "fruitarians he knows," which to me is kind of like asking for advice "for a friend."

If you have too much of anything it can be a bad thing. The disadvantages of eating too much fruit (in extreme cases) would be tooth decay (because of the amount of fructose in modern day fruit) thinning hair and weakening of nails, skin problems and fatigue. The best fruits for you to eat are berries, pomegranates, figs and apples. They have the best nutritional content. I doubt you would be putting on weight from eating too much but I imagine you would feel a little bloated at times. Hope that helps, but on the whole I wouldnt worry too much, listen to your body, it will tell you what is best for you.

Most immediately, diarrhea, depending on how sensitive you are.
And yes, longterm, fat. Depending on how insulin resistant you are. Fruit is basically sugar, fiber, water, and vitamin C. If you are sensitive to sugar, not only will you get fat, but you may develop diabetes.
Try looking into low carb eating, and sub a buncha low carb veggies for most, if not all, of that fruit!

The person that said constipation is nuts. It'll loosen you up big time cause your getting ;lots of fiber.
I don't think there is one. fruit is good for you. I should try to eat more myself.
Even though fruit is nutritionally good for you.......too much can still add calories. An apple alone can be 100 calories and if you eat 5 of them.....500 calories just eating fruit. Fruit is still a source of carbs and no matter where the carb source comes from....if you don't burn it off you will eventually put on weight. When you ingest a carb....your body doesn't know or care what food it came from....it's a carb none the less.
