What's the best brand of jalapenos?!

Question: Best sliced and whole brand?
Also if you know different brand's hottness level as well (hot, meduim, mild)
I would like to know how you feel about all the jalapeno brands you've tried on taste and temp =)

All the brands I've tried were pretty much the same. It's like comparing brands of any vegetable: corn, green beans, sweet peas, etc.
As far as "hottness" is concerned..there's really not a huge difference among the Jalape?o varieties. All are considered "medium heat" pepper.
Degrees of heat are easier to tell among the kinds or TYPES of peppers.
Bell peppers, Paprika, Poblanos/Anchos are among the mildest, followed by Cayenne, Jalape?os, the Tabasco peppers & Serranos.
The hottest peppers are the Naga, Haba?ero and Scotch bonnet peppers.

Of course, the heat scale of smoked chile peppers varies considerably as well. The coban and Haba?ero are the hottest of the smoked chiles and the morita and típico are the mildest. Since jalape?os themselves have medium heat, when smoked they retain the same heat level, which ranges from about 5,000 to 10,000 Scoville Units, measured in the dried form. By comparison, New Mexican chiles are typically 500 to 1,000 Scoville Units, and habaneros range from 80,000 to more than 300,000 Scoville Units.

Buy them fresh.
