Why we toast bread?!
Answers: What benefit is there to toasting bread instead of just eating it untoasted? If there is no benefit, how much electric energy is wasted on toasting in the U.S. of A., do you think?
we started off toasting bread to make stale bread more palatable
now we just like the taste of toasted bread. it IS different to the taste of untoasted bread.
Toasted bread has fewer calories in it ,why i don't know but they say it takes out the moisture in bread that comes from the yeast and it's better for you to eat.
Benefit is that we like hot toast and the butter melting on it. How much electricity being wasted? What about every light in the house on when everyone is in the same room. Or 3 different televisions runnings. What about what's in the oven - cooking the vegetables. Would you like your vegetables raw? Some people do. We live in an energy driven society.
I toast my bread to melt the butter, it also gives the bread a different flavor, plus a crunch. Yum!
maybe some people use energy efficient toasters, ever think of that???
An Egg on bread will make the bread go mushier far faster than toast will, and it is not as crunchy with your Vegemite.
Toasting bread is wasting electricity... that's hilarious. The stuff tastes good that's why. Don't like toast, don't eat toast. Just don't be messin' with my toast. Or we will have a problem. Hear me? Good.
Are you really concerned about the energy used by toasters? The energy vampires (any electrical device that is displaying an LED clock) should concern you more than a device that is on for only a couple of minutes a day.
Toast tastes better to many people.
Not much in my house, I don't eat toast often. If you are concerned about wasting electricity on toasters, unplug ALL appliances from the wall plates when not using them, they still pull some electricity just by remaining plugged in. Somehow that sort of makes the worry of toast wasting energy look rather silly.
to give it a GREAT CRUNCH
