If Jamie Oliver is such a good chef why has he not got a michelin star???!

Question: Getting a Michelin star is not simply a matter of being a good cook. There are also requirements for the restaurant itself. You have to have a certain level of service, certain ammenities in place before you can earn one.

You have to have coat check, for example, to get two stars. If I'm not mistaken, you also have to serve your wine in crystal (not just glass) stems. They are really persnickety about it.

Also, just because someone has a TV show and some cookbooks doesn't mean that they are really good chefs.

I don't believe he has a restaurant. That's what gets the star.

He's not good enough.

does he actually run a restaurant? I think he is simply a celebrity chef, and they don't give michelin stars for that

Not really a fan of Jamie's but here's the real question, if michelin are so hot on food why do they make tyres???

;-)

He has to get better!

hes just too good for one

He's just not good enough, I think you have to be a bit special to get one and he just isn't.

15 is a "charity" restaurant, designed to train scallies how to cook.

Now, that's news. You mean the Jamie the cook. Well, he will have to start learning to do it properly and not just 'knock' together something for the boys.

There are many pre-requisites to even applying for a Michelin star. This in itself prohibits many good chefs and kitchens entering for it.

In the UK although Michelin is without doubt the most prestigious (apparently) the AA "Rosette" system is a fairer guide for dining in this country.

Again you have to apply for them to come and visit, so if you don't apply they don't come.

So obviously he hasn't applied.

His style is not "poncy" or "French" enough

He's not a good chef, that's why he's on food network again. On that network, they like to hire r-tards who look funny.

He has not proved that he is! He is however a celebrity.

Yummy recipes & good sized portions looking & tasting like food should--no wonder he doesn't have a ''Star''

Don't know about a Michelin star but hes starting to get a Michelin Tyre around his waist any one else noticed ?
