Why doesn't my 15 year old like ANYTHING I cook??!

Question: I'm not Betty Crocker but I do pull off marginally edible meals.

Answers: I'm not Betty Crocker but I do pull off marginally edible meals.

Tell him/her to cook their own food. Simple. When we're young we don't take into consideration everything that our parents go through and do for us. I just think that you don't need to cater to their every want and need. They're old enough to figure out what they want to eat. You've provide the stuff to make the food, since they don't like your cooking, they can do it themselves.

because he/she is a teen. it's a power stuggle. let it go. if they don't like what you cook they don't eat anything else. that's how it is in my house and let me tell you, they learn to like what you make.

Well, the 15 year old part is your problem :)
15 year olds want greasey junky fatty sugary foods so put an orange wig on, a clown nose, and make some burgers :) but sneak all manner of chopped vegetables and lean meat into them.

hehe.... 15 yr olds are always cranky no mater what you do.
They'll eat it out of starvation eventually.

give him/her either a bottle of hot sauce and/or ranch. I think it makes all of my moms crappy food taste that much better.

teens are picky. i know from experience. feeding your children amonium nitrate will fx the problem.

probably because your bad cook, or why dont you ask her what she wants.

because thats the way 15 year olds are, mine is the same way and i told him if he could do any better cook himself, i also told him that the day he earns money for food he can eat what he wants and until that day as long as i buy the food he has to eat what i cook thats what my dad told me at that age and it stuck in my head

if this is a new and never occurred before it's just that teenage hormine stuff. maybe just in the mood for something differrent. maybe sit down with teen and ask what the teen might like to be served. really open the lines of communication and there are always compromises if junkfood is the craving.

I recommend asking the 15-year-old. Perhaps you're cooking when she's not hungry, or she's getting health conscious as feels like your food isn't healthy enough. Maybe it's too healthy and she wants grease and sugar. Maybe you cook everything with a food or spice she doesn't like. Maybe she's holding a grudge against you...

Really, the best way to get the real reason is to ask her. :)
