Egg salad sandwiches, Tuna salad , Chicken salad , Turkey & Cheese , Chicken & Cheese , Peanut butter & Nutella, Peanut butter & jelly (of course!), Peanut butter & Honey... Yeah thats all I can think of! LOL
Nutella! Yum! I love that stuff! It tastes like chocolate and hazel nuts!
Turkey and Cheddar cheese and honey wheat bread! Yum! That is my favorite sandwich combo!
A sandwich can be made from just about anything. You could use chicken salad, tuna, pb&j, roast beef, turkey, etc. Try using hummus or mustard, instead of mayo, and be sure to pile on plenty of fresh vegetables. Alfalfa, tomato, lettuce, etc. are some of my favourites. Cucumber slices as well as pickles are also a good choice.
Try using some variety with your breads, as well. Use pitas to stuff. Tortillas are great for making rolled sandwiches. Croissants give a light, flaky texture to sandwiches. Try various types of bread, including both dark and light rye, sourdough, multigrain, etc.
Sandwiches are far from boring if you use your imagination!!
Turkey and cranberry sauce, cheese and cucumber or pork and apple sauce!!
These are some interesting ideas, I quite like all of these sandwiches when I have them, their extremely tasty, give them a go, you'll like them!!
Why not try crab sticks and salad much nicer than ham and not so fattening
Tuna Mayonnaise & Cucumber
Smoked Salmon & Brie on Ciabatta ( inexpensive when ingredients bought from Aldi UK)
Crispy fried bacon & Brie
Cold grilled Sausage with Chili & Tomato Sauce.
Egg mayonnaise & Cucumber.
All you need is a bit of imagination and some good wholemeal bread.
why not jazz up the ham. try a dijon mustard, or a spicy jelly with it? try ham salad, or chicken salad.
Edam cheese and plum jam
Blue cheese and walnuts
Vegemite and Colby cheese (picked the cheese theme yet??)
Ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce & mayo (especially garlic mayo!)
Chicken and sweet chilli or BBQ sauce
Felafel with salad and garlic yoghurt
Turkey, cranberry jelly and ready-made stuffing (in the fridge in the supermarket)
Add crushed pineapple and cheese to your ham to Hawaiian it up
Also - try using soft tortillas to make it a bit more interesting. You can pack it with marinaded beef and salad and dressings to make a kebab - hangover food even at work!
Or my boyfriend's absolute favourite - deli roast beef with cheese done in the George Foreman for a few minutes to melt and warm it all.
Quickest thing to boost a sandwich is get decent bread and start adding dressings in, and don't forget the salt and pepper! And, even with the plainest bread possible, I like to toast it before adding anything (99.9% of workplaces have toasters) to give it a bit of crunch.
My favourite is probably Caesar or ranch dressing smeared on toasted nine-grain bread, with a piece of ham, then a piece of cheese (preferably Dubliner Mature Cheddar), then mixed lettuce, then slices of tomato well-sprinkled with garlic salt and cracked pepper, before slapping on the lid, also well-coated with dressing. Healthy - not so much. Delicious? Oh yeah!
