After chopping a lot of garlic how do you get the smell and the oil of your fingerstips?!
Answers: That lingers for days.
Beleave it or not Stainless steel get's rid of the smell. At my old restaurant I would fust wash my hands and rub my hands on the sink and the smell would go away. Some kitchan ware stores even sell a small piece of SS that looks like a bar of soap for thi purpose.
gasoline
to get smells off your hands lemon juice or vegetable oil works wonders!
=D I love that smell maybe put perfume over it I guess
Lemon juice
Put soap and water on your hands and rub them on a stainless steel surface, a sink, perhaps. It really does work to get out odors like garlic or onion.
Rub your hands with lemon juice
Tomatoes, lemon juice or coffee grinds with detergent.
get a tablespoon out of your drawer and use it under cold running water like a bar of soap---run your fingers over it under the water. Works for onions too, but you have to do it IMMEDIATELY after cutting these things, not wait until later. They actually sell what looks like silver bars of soap for this purpose in kitchen supply stores but all you need is a big spoon!!!
If it has been a few hours since you cut the items, try a good lather of soap and sprinkle some table salt into your hand with the lather.
stick your fingers in cider....
You may think this weird but, I rub ordinary tomato ketchup into my hands, wait a minute or so, then wash it off with normal soap and water.
You may need to wash your hands a couple of times, but it always works for me.
PS
It's especially good at getting TOM-CAT URINE smells out of your hands and clothes. - You know the scene? when you pick up a carrier bag, and someones tom-cat has peed all over it!! You get it on your fingers, and it spills all down your clothes as you try to drop the offending articles.
If you've been there, you'll know how bad it can smell? Well, if it cat shift tom-cat, it can easily shift garlic!!!
First pour some regular chlorine bleach over your fingers. Wait a moment, or as long as you are comfortable. Then, pour some 3% hydrogen peroxide over them. This should neutralize the smell of garlic, bleach etc. I usually have to repeat this, them wash with soap and use plenty of hand cream.
Use some tea tree soap. next time try wear gloves rubber. so ool garlic won't be there.
