Are frozen dinners good for you?!
Answers: there are frozen foods that are good for you. the ones that are prepackage for weight loss are the best ones. when used effectively they can be a very useful tool to weight loss especially if one lacks time or needs boundaries on their diets.
NO!
They have never done my family any harm. They are so convenient.
they are very conveniet although health wise, no. Even the "healthy" frozen dinners are LOADED with sodium! Go figure!
Yes they are. They're made with the same food that you buy fresh. You freeze food too don't you?
You can live off them but the taste like sh!t.
convenient? yes. healthy? no.
besides lacking a lot of nutrients, they are filled with sodium. theres probably enough sodium in there to equal a day or 2 of your daily intake.
Depends on the brand you buy, the Smart Ones from Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine are better for you but all frozen dinners are usually high in Sodium. but they are quite convenient, just drink plenty of water to get rid of the sodium in your body. its great portion control if you eat only one!!
Processed food is good for no one. The reason we in this country have such a big problem with obesity is mainly due to poor quality food, food absent of the vitamins, and minerals we need to sustain us. Then we have too many additives like coloring, and high fructose cornsyrup, and MSG, just to name a few. Fresh whole foods are the best.
some are. like lean cusines and weight watchers smart ones dinners.
I don't know if they are good for you but they are fast and they all taste nasty....and they are expensive at that.....
They are not bad for you when eaten in moderation.
Usually not good for you, but also not bad. You need to chug 2x as much water after eating one though because the sodium is so high.
Definitely don't eat them regularly, but once or twice a week can't hurt... go for the Lean Cuisine or Smart Ones, they're most concerned about lowering sodium and packing in nutrients.
It depends on what you buy. The only way to make sure is by reading the labels. Of course, nothing beats freezing your own dinner. Just make extra whenever you cook and freeze some portions.
Not as good as fresh food.
It depends on the line- I’ve tried Lean Cuisine, Kashi, Amy’s and Smart Ones (weight watchers). Each line have several entrees that I really like. Yes, they do have quite a bit of sodium- it’s not horrible though- look at the back- it will be about 30-35% of your recommended daily allowance. You just need to be aware and watch the sodium for your other meals that day. I pick frozen entrees way over carry-out or drive thru or canned soup. They don’t have any preservatives and you’ve got a huge selection to pick what tastes good to you and you can read the nutrition label. Add a salad and some fruit to round it out.
No. Too much sodium. That is why they are convienience, cuz they are not good for you.
