I found an old can of refried beans in a cabinet., i mean... purchased in 1999. are they still good to eat?!

Question: there's no "best by" date, no "use by" date, and they're name brand beans.. rosaritos.. the can is in excellent shape, no puffing or swelling. but i'm really not in the mood to die today... just hungry! can i eat it or not?

LOL...N0!...i say save it for when you are ready to die

LOL!!

just playing

=)

Throw it out!!! It's food that's been sitting in a can for 7 years!! Pretty much any time you have a question as to whether food is okay to eat, don't even ask... just err on the side of safety and throw it out!

I would NOT eat them!!!!!!!

I sure wouldn't try it! Try Taco Bell

you dumb **** stop being a cheap bastard and throw out the 9 year old refried hick beans and buy a new can bc 50 cents is not worth your life jackass... or maybe it is.

DUMP IT .... WHEN IN DOUBT THROW IT OUT. ...IF IT IS MORE THAN A YEAR OLD...NO DOUBT DUMP IT. YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES. IF YOU ARE DYING FOR REFRIED BEANS, GO GET A FRESH CAN. THEY AREN'T EXPENSIVE. I WOULDN'T TAKE ANY CHANCES WITH FOOD THAT IS THAT OLD. YUK. USE YOUR COMMON SENSE ON THESE THINGS. IF YOU ARE WONDERING, AND NEED TO ASK THIS QUESTION...YOU KIND OF ALREADY ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION. GOOD LUCK AND STAY WELL. : )

i wouldnt eat ANYTHING purchased in 1999. i really advise you not to eat it unless u enjoy toilets and ER's

It will probably be OK, the smell will tell you, followed by a small taste test.

as long as the top of the can is still flat...if it has bubbled up, it's garbage because the seal has been broken.

as long as the seal is intact, it's safe to eat.
yes, they stock bomb shelters with canned food simply because of the safety seal.

I would eat them. I don't pay any attention to dates on tins.

No. Please don't. Two years is one thing; this long is another.
