Cooking with red wine??!


Question: When we cook red wine in a dish, lets say we boil the red wine. Will the alcohol in the wine be evaporated? I mean you wont get drunk?

You can't get drunk cooking with red wine. Unless it's a case of one for the pot and one for the cook and so forth. Alcohol evaporates with cooking and only the flavour and benefits are left. Marvellous in stews and sauces.

Most of the alcohol is out, yes. It retains some of the alcohol, but not really enough to get you drunk. Alcohol has a lower boiling point so most of it evaporates.
