Talking at a party?!
Answers: im having a dinner party at my house for my birthday. im always quite entertaining but iv'e always got this fear that there will be a long silence and people will start to get board. can anybody give me some good suggestions on what to chat about if the worst hapens? thank you!
Having to talk for the entire time must be truly wearing on the nerves. The whole idea is that the guests should have a good time and enjoy the company as a whole while mingling. If there is a mild silence this is a great time to ensure everyone has their glass filled or offered an appetizer of some sort. A party is not a theatre where you are expected to perform. This very often is the time the ladies will take the opportunity to visit the powder room or the men will catch up on their favourite teams scores.

spring break

vacations
politics & religion, there will NEVER be silence.
Course, you could also lose your friends this way
if theres going to be enough people (at least 5 not including you) and its strictly talking and eating, you can rely on someone having something to say at all times, esp. if theres someone who wont shut up and every family has someone like that and if not they need one.
