About chopping boards, colours for different foods , thancks* ****?!

Question: I agree with Newgran although would like to add that the white board is for dairy products (cheese/eggs/butter) and not just for bread, also that the blue board is only for RAW fish and cooked fish would share the yellow Cooked Meat board.
N.B: Myra, my understanding is that we use colour coded chopping boards/knives to prevent the risk of cross contamination. In a large kitchen such as the one I currently work in, we also separate the kitchen into different areas for different tasks. In a small kitchen, this may well not be possible and the main issue is that you are aware of the risk of cross contamination between raw and cooked products and always sanitise your equipment and work surfaces between tasks. I hope that this link helps:

blue=fish
red=raw meat
yellow=cooked meat
green=salad veg/fruit
brown=root veg
white= bread

white-bread and cake
green-veg
red-meat
yellow -fish

Newgrans right.

I would never remember all of that. I have a glass tray for my meats and a large wooden board for my fruit and vegetables. I clean all surfaces well and sterilize them when I am finished. I don't believe I would have room to store all of these boards unless on my counter. The counter is required for food prep and not storage.

is there a questiomn attatched to this headline? do you want to know what the colors indicate?

red is for meat
yellow is for poultry
green or white for veg and fruit
blue is for halal or kosher or fish
