Have you ever tried oatmeal with honey on a day where you ran out of sugar?!

Question: I'm contemplating on doing that since I "ran out of sugar", but I'm afraid it might turn out nasty.

Hi,
actually, honey is a healthier alternative to sugar, and will blend in well with the oatmeal. it's not exactly the same, but there are all those cereals out there like bunches of honey and oats or whatever.
try it, you'll like it

my kids ate porridge with honey on it everyday (in winter) for years. it's not nasty. it's sweet, but obviously different from the sweetness you get from sugar.
try adding some hot milk too

Unless you're running REALLY low on oatmeal, what have you got to lose? It's most likely that even if it DID ruin the oatmeal (which seems unlikely to me), that the price of a bowl of oatmeal is not going to break the bank. Give it a shot; my guess is that it will taste just fine :-)

Honey is better than sugar. Add some cinnamon too

i love it...its not nasty...

You know what its great with honey or maple syrup even.

Yes - its very nice and even better if you add some chopped up banana too, and even a pinch of cinnamon if you have some.

Alternatively I like my porridge with jam

It is really good like that! As suggested before add some cinnamon. Maybe you can add brown sugar if you have some of that instead of white sugar.

no - don't like either

it won't be nasty....you might have to use a bit to achieve the same sweetness as sugar though. same for brown sugar, seems like it takes a bit more to make it as sweet as white sugar. i've sweetened just about everything with honey before and it's always been just fine! yum yum!

Nothing wrong with it. I use maple syrup with either nutmeg or allspice.

Yes babe, l have that Everyday, its really nice.and More Healthy.
Love Jo xx

Yes, it's quite good. Add cinnamon also.

yea it turned out just fine, i sometimes use real maple syrup or even brown sugar, you might even try corn syrup

put raisins in it if you dont have sugar its nartually sweetens the oatmal alot.

you can also try cinnnimon or brown sugar,

honey sounds like it would work also.

i always each my oatmeal with raisins and sweet and low.
