Sodium/Salt substitutes?!
Answers: I LOVE salty foods and tend to put a decent amount of salt on most of what I eat. I know how bad it is for your body so I want to cut back. Are there any substitutes that I could use to make my food taste like there is salt on it? Thanks!
Start experimenting with more flavourful herbs and spices to add zest to your meals. Try fresh garlic or garlic powder, lemon juice, flavoured vinegar, salt-free herb blends, cumin, nutmeg, cinnamon, fresh ground pepper, tarragon, oregano and many others to unleash the powerful taste!

If you have a healthy heart and functioning kidneys, too much salt should not be a problem for you. Just be sure to drink plenty of water every day.
yes and you can reduce your blood pressure and live longer.
good luck to you
I need to do this too!! Especially since I've been PG I put salt on everything (too much salt). I was just telling my friend how great it would be if they made a salt substitute, we've had a sugar substitute forever! right? Anyway when I'm trying to avoid overdoing it I make sure not to use ANY salt while cooking because it will cook away anyway, and I add a lot of spices and seasoning to really make my food flavorful so I wont miss the salt. I'm not doing good right now but also whenever I go cold turkey I forget about salt completely after a couple weeks, GL.
I cut back (but not totally eliminated) on salt very slowly. It takes a little time.
When you do then eat something salty again, your taste buds will be overwhelmed. I can't eat most fast foods because the level of salt in them.
Re: substitutes, I tried some once and it tasted weird. Not recommended. Just cut back little by little.
