What is Rachel Ray's Appeal?!
Answers: I don't get it.
She's goofy, sincere, unguarded... like somebody's kid sister. She'll tell you stories about her grandpa or a cake she made that fell flat. She's open and clean... not structured and overly practiced. People relate to her like a friend who knows how to cook and won't make fun of them for using canned tomatoes or prepackaged vegetables because she uses them too.
Why does anything appeal to one person and not another??
EVOO
Extra Virgin Olive Oil.. :-)
Who knows.
maybe its the girl next door thing...i like her food but her personality is annoying
Everyone has different feelings, that is what makes us unique....She can cook, has some delicious twists on old receipes, she is good on camera, has a good stage personality, and is nice.....to each his own....personally I perfer Rachel over Barefoot countessa
I haven't figured it out either. I actually flipped to her show the other morning, just to see if I could figure out the appeal, and she made a banana rolled up in a piece of bread with peanut butter on it, calling it "banana sushi". Boy, what an inventive and inspired recipe. Maybe it appeals to people who really are clueless in the kitchen, but her awful technique, horrid sanitation practices on the screen, and boring recipes coupled with the goofy personality just make me cringe.
She is bright, bubbly, quick, when she speaks it's just like she's talking to you directly. There is something personable in that approach.
Her voice is quite annoying. Not appealing.
She is the girl next door, more simple meals, her smile she is just cute...I want to come home see her and eat that meal!!!
Her youngish, kooky mannerisms do get to me sometimes, but she is so guilless, sincere, and chock full of info...surely she appeals to the younger crowd...Hopefully gets young women especially moms interested in cooking for their families with wisely chosen recipes and foods that will intrigue them into healthful choices, preparations and alternatives to always eating out. My fave shows of Rachel's is when she travels, $40 a day is a great one.
i dont get it either, maybe its the buzzsaw voice, or the way she calls everyone brother, or friend eeeew, or perhaps its her catchy yummo phrase, or her "rockstar" husband, in the appropriatly named band the cringe(yes he makes me want to), so take your pick, as you can tell, im a big fan....NOT!
I don't get it either. I find her rather annoying.
I used to like her.
She gets on my nerves a lot now.
She is too redundant. " you then add a splash of EVOO, Extra virgin olive oil"
come on ,I am not an idiot I do not need to be told what EVOO is!!!! She is just too giddy. No one has the right to act that darn happy all the time.
But she is kind of cute though.
She is down to earth
Well, in culinary schools, most people think she's just a face with no training. Sounds bad, I used to love watching her shows (I still like $40 a Day though), but I've heard even "domestic goddesses" complain that her meals take longer than 30 minutes to cook.
