Currys can be addictive, it is not the curry itself but one of the ingredients, the chili!!

The chili pepper (or chilli) contains a chemical called capsicum which gives it the spice. This also causes the body to release endorphins which cuase a feeling ranging from mild well being to complete euphoria. Many addictive legal and illegal drugs also produce the same effect.

My boss is a chilli enthusiast and has grown one of the hottest varieties known, the habanero. I tried the tiniest slither of this raw and it was incredibly hot!!! Once the initial pain subsided I felt rather exhilirated, not disimilar to how I felt on some of the substances I foolishly took in my youth!

So yes, a curry can be addictive.

no

no, im of indian origin so i eat curry on a regular basis, its not addictive, i actually am sort of sick of it.

Only if you smoke it

actually the answer is YES

theres some chemical in a curry that can become addictive

it gives you a sort of food high , and you miss this when you stop eating curry

How could you forget the Dal and chapatis, no curry is not addictive, is Pizza addictive?

If it has something in the particular curry you like that effects your brain chemicals and the make up of your specific brain, then yes your brain will start to make you self medicate in order to get you to put in more of the substance that effects your chemicals that you may be lacking, and make you feel better (temporarily). That's how addiction works, brain chemicals, and if your brain wants more then it will try and make you eat/drink/inject/have sex/gamble/whatever more. Just because no-one else is 'addicted' to curry doesn't mean you can't be, your brain may be different to theirs.

very, i eat it every day

I suppose it's possible.

ohhh curry mmmmmmmmm...........

i love curry SOOOO much! we HAVE to have it once a week! :) basmati rice, chicken bhuna/madras/tikka masala, poppadoms, naan bread and onion bhajis and/or vegetable samosas.

YUM! ooh i'm craving curry now, fortunately, we're having it for dinner tonight! YAY! :D

and yes, i think it must be additive....all those lovely spices... mmmmmmm....

i hope you get your curry soon!

I suppose it could be, much like coffee with the caffeine, but it most definitely is when used as the first transitive verb form. It means either to beat or wale, and to attract attention with flattery.
