What is healthier low fat ice cream or sherbert?!

Question: Sorbet is the healthiest option because it contains no dairy. Haagen Dazs makes awesome ones. Sherbert contains dairy and usually has crap ingedients. "Low fat" ice cream usually packs a lot of calories & extra sugar into its servings - not great, but a good option there, again, is Haagen Dazs. (No I don't work for them, I just find that they make good products without a lot of garbage in them).
Gelato is another option, an Italian ice cream that is lighter than American ice cream.

Sherbet, it totally fat free. Low fat still has fat in it. They make a life savers sherbet now, it's delicious! I also love the regular rainbow sherbert!

sherbert

sherbert!!its like more of a fruit cream than regualr ice cream

There is probably not anything actually healthy about either one. Look at the ingredients list to see which has beneficial substances, such as protein or vitamins. You might consider an ordinary yogurt instead.

I am diabetic. We have the listings of all food products for eating out when necessary:

Baskin Robbins:

Low fat ice cream 4 oz serving size
Espresso & cream 180 calories, 4 g fat, 1 g fibre, 32 g Carb
Blueberry swirl 130 calories, 2 g fat, 1 g fibre, 31 Carbs

Sherbet 4 oz serving size
Orange 160 calories, 2 g fat, 0 g fibre, 34 g Carbohydrate
Rainbow 160 calories, 2 g fat, 0 g fibre, 34 g Carbs
Red Raspberry 160 g calories, 2 g fat, 0 g fibre, 36 g Carbs

I hope this assists you.

Blueberry swirl low fat ice cream appears to be the winner on this one.

It depends what kind of 'healthy' your looking for.

The sugar content will most likley be higher on sorbet while the fat content on sorbet will be lower, and vice versa with the low-fat ice cream.

Every brand is different though, so it might take some searching to find what your looking for.

Another option might be non-fat frozen yogurt, stonyfeild farm makes some great versions.

sherbert
