In the 1920's in the western world what do you think people would of eaten? In the Depression what do you?!

Question: think people would of eaten? thanks

Answers: think people would of eaten? thanks

during the depresion, my grandma had a garden in the backyard with veggies. and if my great grampa shot something on the way home from work (rabbit, squirel, even chipmunk. gross i know) and they would eat that. if he didn't get anything, they would have veggie soup

My parents and grandparents, made their own noodles, and mixed it with homegrown vegetables, with some bacon drippings and garlic for flavoring.

Vegetables.

Potatoes, cheese, rice, bread and broth if they could get it in the food lines.

My great grandma told me they would make dumplings, and if they were lucky they could have chicken sometimes. People back then had families of 10 or 12 so they had to make inexpensive stuff that would last for days and could make several meals out of! She still to this day will make a pot of potato soup that she'll eat off of for a week, and she doesn't mind a bit!

My mother's family lived in Los Angeles in the 20's. They shopped at the local farmers' markets and spent their weekends at the grandparent's home near Bakersfield, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, lots of homemade pie, biscuits, and fresh eggs from the henhouse.
During the Depression, they ate much the same things, because both of my grandparents had Government jobs.
My father's family ate kosher food both in the 20's and during the Depression, just not as much during the later.

Whatever they served you in the public food kitchens.
