I'm writing my grocery list and I need to buy some healthy foods?!
Answers: What should I purchase? Tell me what healthy foods you buy.
I do the shopping for my family, and usually a big percentage of our grocery bill goes to produce. I feed my kids mostly fruit for snacks. we like apples, grapes, oranges, strawberries and blueberries. I also do most of the cooking and like to include fresh veggies when I can into the meals I cook. Potatoes, onions, peppers, garlic, fresh herbs, green beans, broccoli, and beets are some of our faves. I try to buy food that is minimally processed as much as I can and try to avoid junk food and stuff with a lot of sugar in it.
100 calorie packs are good and 100 calories
well, my swim season just finished recently, so I have been trying to eat as healthy as possible. What I usually do is get whole grain oat meal, make sure its the old fasion *sp* oats, not the already packaged individual ones, and what I like to do is add raisins and some nuts to it. So, one possibility is oatmeal
basically if u want to eat healthy, make sure u eat whole grain foods, when you buy bread, it should be whole grain. Eat a diet with a lot of fiber, and u will be living a good life in no time at all
You should buy pretzel crisps and organic cheddar puffs. They're healthy and really delicous. If you can't find them or need more ideas check the organic section of the grocery store, they have many healthy, but tasty snacks. Also, be sure to get fruits and vegtables, but not the fruits that come come in a cup because they are full of sugar.
Whole wheat tortillas, spinach and turkey breast from the deli (not the prepackaged stuff) make a great wrap and instead of dressing get the "salad spritzers". Yoplait light is really good - can't really tell a difference between the light and the regular and if you get the ones with the pink tops and send them back to yoplait they donate money for breast cancer research. The 100 calorie packs are really good too.
vegetables, fruits, lean meats (fish and chicken), vegetarian products as well, healthy fats such as nuts, low fat diary and whole grains. :)
Well you can get plain yogurt, water tuna, soy milk. What you think is healthy.
I do organic fruits and vegetables, brown rice, whole wheat pasta with Marinara sauce, low fat dairy, lean chicken, turkey, tuna, salmon and tilapia. For snacks I tend to go with popcorn, nuts, yougurt, dried fruit and home made granola.

For protein lean toward beans and seafood, your poultry should be skinless, and try to limit red meat to once or twice per week.
For grains lean toward whole grains. Use brown rice instead of white rice (it will cook in twenty minutes if you presoak over night for the next evening's meal). Try exotic whole gains like bulgar, farrow and quinoa.
For cereals read the label and limit yourself to whole grain cereals with less than 6 grams of sugar.
For dairy go for the lowest fat item you can tolerate. Skim milk now has extra milk solids so it is no longer blue and weak tasting. Greek non-fat yogurt is amazing. Neufchatel cheese is a perfect substitute for full fat cream cheese.
In the frozen food aisle, reach for the sorbets instead of the ice cream. Sorbet has sugar but little or no fat. The flavor can be spiked with a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime and dressed up with fresh fruit.
And last, but not least, load up on fruits and vegetables. Every night serve one or two vegetables and a green salad along side the protein and starch. Or learn how to stir fry for a delicious and nutritious two pot meal. Dessert should be fresh fruit, or dried fruit with Greek yogurt and a little honey. This time of year, fresh grapefruit sections with Splenda are great!
Earth Balance Natural Buttery Spread. I buy some Vegan foods, b/c they have no preservatives or bad fake things. It tastes JUST like butter! Almond butter. In the cookie aisle, I buy Annie's Bunny Grahams (Im 95% sure that's what they're called, for sure bunny grahams). They have no refined sugar, but instead have evaporated cane juice, which is the good stuff- not fake or a substitute. I buy loads of fruit. Beans are good for you, but I still can't make myself eat them:) I've lost a lot of weight by not consuming dairy. Follow Your Heart has good vegan cheese. I try not to eat a lot of meat, and I think I've lost weight from that, too. Those are 2 huge things to cut out of your diet. Also, I always buy Cranberry Juice. Oh and veggies. A great salad- Annie's Natural Low Fat Rasperry Vinaigrette. Oh, and I can't live without the wheat rotini pasta!!
