I just ate some shrimp cocktail sauce that was like a dark brown.?!
Answers: It's usually a bright red isn't it. Did i just eat some bad sause or it there some that is just actually dark. I need to know this in case I just poisoned myself.
If you poisoned yourself, you wouldn't be asking the question. Your sauce may have been exposed to the air for too long, or didn't have a high ketchup content, or had too much horse radish. Any of those would tend to make the sauce dark.
not an expert here, but i don't see how the bright red sauce(yes, it's usually red) will turn a dark brown. i see it as a condiment as ketchup and mustard...these don't change color
and i've never seen cocktail sauce that was brown, but who knows...it could exist i guess...but i would have to say maybe you ate a different sauce and thought it was coctail...where were you at?
Most cocktail sauces I have ever had are red. The main ingredient in cocktail sauce is Ketchup. Did it taste bad to you?
If you start feeling sick, that'll answer your question.
Until then, don't worry.
Next time; if you don't trust something, don't eat it.
IF, by some chance, you begin to get hot, cold, hot cold, then you have food poisoning. What brand of sauce was it?
Start running for the bathroom, cocktail sauce is always red.......
