Why when I eat oranges the juice burns my mouth?!

Question: First, I can't really drink orange juice concentrated since it gives me stomach problems... but I thought I would be okay with eating oranges and sucking the juice out of that... no stomach problems yet, but my mouth is really tingly and was burning. My lips and tongue. Its really weird, any ideas?

yes i get that tooo...its the from the acid in the ornage..you may get that also with grapefruit, lemons and limes...mainly acidic fruits....maybe have some water...or brush your teeth..but better not to irratate it more..just wait it out,...or avoide it! lol!

:D

acid reflex??

It could be where you've brushed your teeth before you ate it or in general the citrus level could be high, i've ate some pineapple that burned my mouth, but not all of them have alot of high citrus.

The best idea is for you not to have orange juice in any form since it causes you discomfort./

oh i dunno maybe ur ALLERGICT

why r u consisting on drinking orange juice when u have bad side effects .. ??

when i brush my tounge to hard it happens to me!

maybe the vitamin c is too conc for u!wat abt sprinkling a bit salt over it and having it!

Sounds like your mouth is overly sensative to acidic foods/fruits?

well i think its cause the pores on your tongue r open that usually happens right after brushing your teeth and the sores on your gum get into contact with the acid in the citric fruits.its sometimes hard to notice the sores on your gums,so the best thing to do is to try your best to brush your teeth carefully and also do not over brush your tongue,it is a very sensitive organ.and you may also be lacking vitamin c,no wonder the citric fruits are reacting harshly.
