I make really good pizza and I'm not Italian. I think what you are saying is an urban myth.

If the restaurant is run by Italian-Americans that doesn't make them less Italian. One of our greatest Chefs is Lydia Bastianich who immigrated as a teen. What about Mario Batali?

I make great authentic Mexican food because I get tips from my Mexican novio (boyfriend) and friends. I search out only authentic recipes and prefer to eat only at authentic restaurants.
When I go to specific ethnic restaurants I look to see how many people from that particular culture are there...then I can tell if their food has ben American-ized or not.

That's kind of silly. The answer to the question is obvious to all.

COMMON SENSE they have been making it since quite sometime or seen someone in the family make it .....
