yay for vegemite, its the perfect spread! peanut butter is so unhealthy and jams are full of sugars
but i think you have to grow up with it to appreciate it.. all my family are from Scotland and still eat marmalade, and my ex was American and just couldnt comprehend the vegemite, he said it was just wrong (what did he know anyway lol)
It must be a genetic mutation specific to aussies. What other explanation could there be?
I've always lived in the states, where Peanut Butter was our undisputed spread. So you can bet when I first heard of this Vegemite business, I was a bit thrown off. And oh my God, I nearly spit it out. Maybe I expected too much. Perhaps I had a prejudice to it already, as I already had peanut butter to compare it to. I don't know, but the stuff just isn't right. What do you guys think of peanut butter?
The old vegie mite is great for us .Full of vitamins and it puts a rose on everyones cheeks.It is a Aussie icon.item.
its the same with marmite here in england. personally i love it. but its not to everyones taste :-)

u have to be introduced to it at a young age to like it, my two little kids absolutly love it.
but usually other people eg.americans usualy dont like it cause they dont have it when there young

Heard a story about a friend who had people from overseas staying here on holiday ~ They were given vegemite on toast to try for brekky ~ They thought it was a joke of some kind ~ "You eat this stuff ON TOAST, FOR BREAKFAST...aw, c'mon, did you get this outta your car engine or something?"
