Looking in the fridge...when you're in doubt, do you throw it out or?!

Question: scarf it down and hope for the best?

Answers: scarf it down and hope for the best?

After a bout with food poisioning, I'm a throw it out kind of girl now.

Unfortunately, I'm a pack-rat - I probably wouldn't eat it, but I wouldn't throw it out either. My fridge needs a PROPER clear-out right now - and has needed it for quite a while.

If I know I'm not going to eat any more, I throw it out, even if it is still good. I never serve anything to anyone that I wouldn't eat myself. I don't pay any attention to best before dates either and I freeze raw meat or seafood.

if your not sure then I would toss it.

Yes, if in doubt... out the door..... anything over three days at my house ...goes.................................

Throw it out, you don't want to poison yourself.>

depends how bad it looks/smells

your displayed picture is beautiful.....................

If in doubt throw it out.

when in doubt, throw it out. ABSOLUTELY. Also, I keep a sharpie in the fridge and DATE all the leftovers that go in there.

(I get some odd looks when people see the sharpie, but once I explain, they're like "what a cool idea!")

it would depend on lots of things any meat products made up dishes i throw them if i have not used them after three days on the fourth day out they go.
but what about veg and stuff you can peel them or remove the brown bits and make them into soup that is raw veg cooked veg throw away

if it smells ok, and passes my mom's inspection, i eat it
she can tell when food is going bad, it's her superpower

three or four days its time for the garbage

I have found the best approach is to pinch your nose before you touch the food item in question. It makes it much easier to swallow if it's odorless! :)

>> Doubtful leftovers get fed to the pets ~ They have a higher tolerance to bacteria than humans ~ As a rule, I don't like to toss ~ I don't like to waste anything if it has other uses.
Ciao!
