How do I keep a banana fresh after I've cut it?!
Answers: I need to cut up bananas, but what do I do to keep them fresh?
To keep bananas from turning brown they need lightly tossed with an acidic juice.. this can be some orange juice, lemon juice, pineapple. But this only postpones the inevitable and still might only keep a day at most.
Toss the banana slices in some orange juice and then drain off the excess (you can drink it and enjoy the light banana taste it adds) . Place in a baggie with all the air pulled out or in a tightly covered bowl in the refrigerator. Don't let the banana sit in water. It will still brown and then it will also get mushy.
Good luck and Hope you enjoy your bananas.
A bit of lemon juice might help and wrap it up tightly in saran wrap, this works for other fruits and veggies so its worth a try.
