A question about milk!!!?!


Question: I want to know if milk keeps its health supplements (calcium proteins and all the good things about milk) after being heated by a microwave or over a stove, and by adding cocoa or chocolate. Sometimes I heat it and add Nesquik to it, or Cadbury. I need to drink milk to get taller and I want to know that if I keep doing these things I'll keep benefiting from milk and not only drink it for no reason.

p.s I can't stand the taste of raw milk!!!

The answer is mostly yes, milk keeps its good stuff. But the higher and longer it is heated, the more vitamins are destroyed by the heat. Calcium doesn't change and even though the proteins denature slightly, you still digest them to useful amino acids. If you heat the milk to around 120F, you will still have the cooked taste and lose the least amount of vitamins.

If you don't care about having it warm, but like the cooked taste, try this: take a can of evaporated milk and add one can of water to it. Mix your chocolate with this reconstituted milk and you will have the cooked taste and most of the nutrition of fresh milk. Why? When making evaporated milk, the producer fortifies it with vitamin D and sometimes vitamin K to cover the amount lost in their cooking process.

Me neither.
Try also some vanilla and a bit of sugar in your milk - makes it tasty and I don't think as bad as chocolate.
I don't think these things ruin the food value of milk.

milk doesn't make you grow.

if you want calcium, take a supplement of calcium citrate. if you want to grow, take zinc and eat a good variety of food.
