When you buy beef hot dogs, does that mean its from whatever piece of the cow that happened to be there?!

  • No not necessarily...it is made up of the leftovers, as is bologna, and other lunchmeats...
    Look at it this way.....if it is gross stuff....and you have been eating it all these years and lived....what's the difference...? tada

    Basically hot dogs are made from the bits and pieces that don't go into other products.

    There are food laws in the US regarding labeling of these products.

    A frankfurter MUST only contain skeletal meat, muscle and fat that is attached to the bone.

    Hot dogs are legally allowed to contain any part of the animal, they use every part except for the moo and the oink.

    I try not to think of that. I love hot dogs, I'm happy not knowing =)
