Bad food...?!

Question: I have heard that when food packaging is bubbled out before breaking the seal, it indicates bacteria. it this true? and more specifically, I have a frozen precooked whole chicken. it is passed the freeze by date but has been frozen. the packaging seems to be bubbled out some, does this indicate that it is bad?

chicken is easy, just thaw it out. if it's bad, and you have a sense of smell, you'll definatly know it.

no not true

If when thawed, meat is slimy and has an odor, then it is obviously bad. Or, if not obvious when it is raw, bad meat smells and tastes very bad when cooked.

Usually a few days after pull date (given the meat was handled correctly after it left the producer) it's still OK, just not as fresh as it could be.
