How do ants know where food is?!

Question: They literally send out scouts to find food. These scouts move around randomly at first and sample whatever food they find. Their preference is sugar, as mentioned above, because it's a source of high energy. So, if the scout finds a source of sugar, he takes a sample, marks his path as he goes back home, and the other ants there have a taste of this sample. They then follow the path the scout made and...tada! You have a billion ants eating your pie...

They just sense where it is. If you have any sugar in your home keep it in a sealed container. Ants love sugar, even the smallest amount spilled in your cupboards or behind your fridge or on the floor will bring them in in droves.

smell. l like most animals. I think their smell receptors are in their legs or their antennae. I can't remember which.
